If you’re the parent of a school-aged child, especially a teen, you’ll read this and say, “SAME!” This woman proves that the struggle for parents of teens is REAL. First, you have to wake them up, then actually get them out of bed. The next battle is getting them out of that bathroom, filled with breakfast and out the door before they miss the bus.
One mother was sick and tired of her daughter’s consistent lateness. She was even more sick of her daughter asking to bail her out by writing a note to her teacher. She did comply with the request, but her daughter didn’t get what she bargained for.
According to 12 News, the note said her excuse for being late was “teenage-ism”:
“Cara is tardy this morning as a result of a condition known as teenage-ism,” wrote Poppic. “She suffered from an inability to remove herself from her bed, and also felt the need to talk back to her birth-giver.”
It really struck a chord with other parents because her note has been shared more than 29,000 times online.
“She seems to be recovering her senses after watching her cell phone fly out the car window. Please call me if there is another flare up.”
Here is the note in all its glory.
