Soldier Begins To Sing Incredible Cover Of Rihanna Hit Song, When He Hits High Notes Friends Are Left Speechless.

Trooper Paul Ieti, has an unexpected talent: a one of a kind and unfathomable performing voice. In the video beneath he displays that talent while on base.

Originally from the little island of American Samoa, Paul is currently positioned at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia after returning from a 9-month deployment in Afghanistan. A friend recorded on video as he showcases his wonderful voice in an impromptu performance of Rihanna’s 2013 hit single “Stay.” He even sings his cover in Rihanna’s unique key– a remarkable accomplishment for a male vocalist! What’s more, it is truly stunning!

Paul regularly uploads videos of himself to YouTube and Facebook, and– after much encouragement from his fans and friends– ended up on Season 9 of America’s Got Talent in 2014.

According to his America’s Got Talent bio, “Paul has been singing since the age of eight, and the powerful effects of music have helped him through hardships in his life. He believes he’s been blessed with talent so he can share it with the world.”

He made it to the semifinals on America’s Got Talent, but there’s something about this video– just him, sitting in an empty room, eating cereal and singing– that’s even more impressive than any televised production. It’s just raw talent.

The person filming says it best; after Paul finishes his song, there’s a moment of silence and then… “Woah.”

Check out his song below and share!
