We all know that the creepiest of horror movies are the ones that involve dolls. Just when you’d recovered from the trauma of your Furby waking up in the middle of the night, you sawChucky and developed a perpetual fear of children’s toys. Now you can really derail your mental health, thanks to a site that’s live streaming a creepy, haunted doll from a closet.
Meet Ann, the haunted doll who you can watch 24/7 for the next two weeks.
You can check in on Ann, who is rumored to be haunted by the spirit of a 13-year-old girl who died from Tuberculosis in the 1900s, thanks to The Line Up, a site dedicated to all things horror (their tagline is ‘where murder and mayhem is delivered daily’). She’s coming to you live from The Line Up’s New York office. “We heard she was afraid of the dark so we have a light on her at all times,” website spokesperson Jennifer Johnson told The Huffington Post.
Apparently, Ann is going to be observed and tested by paranormal experts in the coming days.
… Although it’s unclear what that entails. Since Ann’s arrival in the office, there’s been some suspicious activity. “Our live stream went dead at one point and it turns out the computer cord was physically removed,” Johnson said. “The time stamp on the computer said 8:27 — a time when no one was in the office.”
There also seems to be something strange happening with people’s phones. During Johnson’s call with The Huffington Post, the phone went dead. And apparently, some creepy stuff happened during attempted communication with Ann. “We had an electro-magnetic frequency sensor near the doll that was silent,” Johnson said. “One of my co-workers said, ‘Hi Ann, welcome to the office’ and the sensor went off.”
Check out the live stream and enjoy the impending nightmares.
Oh, we almost forgot— Ann could be all yours.
The website will be holding an essay contest where interested fans can write in and make a case for why they’d be the best home for a haunted doll. Just email firstname.lastname@example.org and get creative. (h/t huffington post)
