A five-year-old girl was beaten up on the streets. When these bikers show up, I was speechless.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a five-year-old girl was on her way home from school when she was attacked in broad daylight. The reason she was targeted and beaten up? This little girl has a mental disability.

Then a group of bikers heard about the assault and knew they needed to do something. They’re part of an association of current and former law enforcement officers, firefighters, military veterans, and others called The Punishers, dedicated to protecting the vulnerable.

The next thing the girl knew, there was a ring at her front door.

“We just want to say hello,” said one of the men. She stared at them, wide-eyed. As they later explained, they wanted to convey to her a feeling of empowerment and said they’d always be there for her.

The Punishers’ website explains that their members “possess the highest moral and ethical values; uncompromising integrity, trust and dedication.”

These men certainly demonstrated their values here!

The little girl, who remained anonymous for her own safety, felt an immediate bond with these guys. It could be a friendship that lasts a lifetime. She certainly now has the strongest and most kindhearted protectors you could imagine.

It’s good to know that there are people like this, who don’t shy away when they hear about a vulnerable person being victimized like that — on the contrary, they went out of their way to encourage and support a child who could give them nothing in return except her gratitude. That’s generosity!
