“Millions of dads all over the world do stuff like this. We don’t want awards, props, etc. because it sends the message that we’re ‘going above and beyond’ the call of parenting duty, and we’re not. Babywearing, doing hair, late-night feedings, diaper changing, being nurturing, etc. are all line items on the ‘Daddy’ job description.”
Here’s some of our favorite photos from Daddy’s Doin’ Work…

After being gone for a week on a ship, Daddy (who’s in the Navy) came home exhausted. His autistic son was overjoyed and overwhelmed to have Daddy home. To help him calm down, Daddy got on the floor so they could put beads on pipe cleaners. After working non-stop for five straight days, Daddy wanted almost nothing more than to take a nap. The only thing that he wanted more than rest was to spend some quality time with his son.
